Pumas San Bernardino, originally Blast Soccer Club, was founded in 1990 by Jay and Pam Lowry with two teams. They practiced and trained in various school fields throughout the San Bernardino area. Always struggling with other soccer organizations, football and baseball teams for field space,  Blast Soccer Club and Mr. and Mrs. Lowry reached an agreement with the City of San Bernardino to develop 17 acres of undeveloped land adjacent Al Guhin Park in the Verdemont area of Northern San Bernardino. The Blast Soccer Complex was developed in 1996 with no financial support from City of County programs with the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Lowry and other sponsors that believed in creating something unique; a private facility for their teams to play on.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowry retired from Blast Soccer Club during the 2002 soccer season leaving a new Board headed by Alex Aldasoro as President of the club.

During the 2005-2006 Season the club changed its logo and color of their uniforms by majority vote of the teams.

In May 2006, Blast Soccer Club joined Pumas UNAM as an affiliate of their youth program. Pumas UNAM will provide coaching and training staff for players and members of Blast Soccer Club three times a year. Members of Blast SC will enjoy other benefits as members of Pumas UNAM.

In April 2007 a decision was made by the majority of the teams to change its philosophy on training and direction as well as to change the name of the club to Pumas San Bernardino.
