The U18 Pumas team won the Spring Cup tournament by defeating the Inland United Brazil team 1-0 on a hard fought game.
The game didn’t start very well for our boys when the referee made a tough call on a play by GK Danny and calling a PK with just 4 minutes of play. Danny came out big on the ensuing play by stopping the shot from the IU Brazil player and keeping his goal cleared for the duration of the game.
With 15 minutes left on the game Gregory Olivas made a play inside Brazil’s 18 yard box and he was brought down hard by an opponent with the referee calling a PK. Gabriel Leon, took a hard shot to the GK’s left after the GK dived to his right and scoring the winning goal.
Jake Davies, Diego Torres, Kevin Leigue and “Bofo” helped GK Danny Montalvo keep their goal clear of any danger. Francisco Portillo, Francis Calderon, Angel Cruz, Alejandro Mejia, Andru Camacho, John Archer, Paul Sands and Damien Brinoccoli did a great job at midfield feeding plays to Edgar Magallan, Gabriel Leon, Fernando Gutierrez, Gregory Olivas and Ricardo Salcedo who played forward.
The team was lead by Head Coach Jose Manuel Doce and Assistant Coach Guillermo Campos with Director of Coaching Jose Santana on the sidelines.
We are very proud of you boys.
Felicidades!
